For the record: it’s not you. It’s the instruction manual that never came.
Tech isn’t just for “Tech People” – it’s for you, too! One of my driving beliefs is that no one is completely technologically challenged. Most of the people who feel that way just haven’t been taught in a way that clicks with them and how they think.
Many of my clients claim that they’re “dumb” about technology. No You Aren’t!! I’m always honored to hear from them that they feel much more tech-savvy when we are done working together. And there are some of them who choose to skip the “how to” and end up hiring someone to do their tech things, but at least they now understand what they are hiring someone to do.
Let’s be honest—technology has changed faster than most of us ever imagined. One minute we were learning how to program the VCR, and the next we’re expected to collaborate in Microsoft Teams, manage files in the cloud, and troubleshoot apps that didn’t even exist five years ago.
If you’ve ever said, “I’m just not good at tech,” here’s the truth: You’re not bad at it. You just haven’t been taught yet.
It’s Not About Age—It’s About Access
No one handed you a guidebook when Outlook changed its layout. No one explained why your files are now “in the cloud” or how to stop your calendar from double-booking you. And yet, you’re expected to keep up. That’s not a lack of ability—it’s a lack of support.
The good news? You’ve already mastered far more complex things in life. Learning tech is just another skill—and one that can absolutely be taught in a way that makes sense.
You Don’t Need to Be a “Techie”
You don’t need to speak in acronyms or know how to code. You just need someone to walk you through the basics, show you what buttons to click, and explain things in plain English—not tech jargon.
Once you understand the “why” behind the tools, the “how” becomes a lot easier. And before you know it, you’re not just keeping up—you’re helping others figure it out too.
Let’s Learn Together
So next time you feel overwhelmed by a new app, a confusing update, or a blinking error message, remember:
You’re not behind. You’re just not there yet.
And we’re here to help you get there—step by step, no judgment, no tech-splaining.
